Super Bowl champion coach Tony Dungy is speaking out after a left-wing opinion article published in the Scientific American argues that the NFL is racist, according to Fox News.

Without evidence, the article accuses NFL coaches of “racially segregating by playing position and putting Black athletes at a higher risk.”

This accusation comes as Buffalo Bills player Damar Hamlin recently collapsed during “Monday Night Football” and suffered cardiac arrest. The 24-year-old was resuscitated on the field and again at the hospital before taking steps toward recovery.

In response, former NFL coach Dungy slammed the article as “absolutely ridiculous.”

“As a black man and former NFL player I can say this article is absolutely ridiculous,” Dungy wrote.

The Scientific American article argued that the NFL’s violence “disproportionately affected” African Americans.

“The opinion article says Black men are overrepresented on the playing field and underrepresented in positions of power. The article claimed that through the process of ‘racial stacking’ coaches allegedly,” Fox News reported.

“While this form of entertainment has been normalized, Hamlin’s injury demonstrates that ordinary violence has potentially deadly consequences, and highlights how Black men’s athletic labor sustains this brutal system,” the article says.

Hamlin’s neurological function is “excellent,” according to doctors.

He continues to breathe on his own and was taken off a ventilator. Hamlin showed an ability to speak.

In his first public words since the injury, Hamlin said, “Putting love into the world comes back 3xs as much… thankful for everyone who has reached out and prayed. This will make me stronger on the road to recovery, keep praying for me!”
