NFL safety Damar Hamlin of the Buffalo Bills said he believes “God [is] using me in a different way” after he suffered cardiac arrest after a routine tackle during a game.

Hamlin also encouraged people about the importance of telling “someone that you love them today.”

First responders performed CPR on the field in order to resuscitate him and rush him to a nearby hospital.

Hamlin’s heart stopped again at the hospital where he need to be resuscitated and placed on a ventilator.

Before the next NFL game, Hamlin started taking steps toward recovery and shared a game-day message for his team.

“Nothing I Want More Than To Be Running Out That Tunnel With My Brothers,” Hamlin said. “God Using Me In A Different Way Today.”

“Tell Someone You Love Them Today! Let’s go Buffalo Bills,” he said.

Hamlin has reportedly made remarkable progress since the scary injury on the field.

The Buffalo Bills honored Hamlin by changing its Twitter photo to a number three.

Quarterback Josh Allen wore Hamlin’s number on a blue baseball cap and a white sweatshirt after the injury.

Allen also warmed up before the game wearing a t-shirt with the words: “Love for Damar” and the number three.

On Saturday afternoon, when the team normally would have posted a pregame hype video, the Bills opted instead to post a Damar Hamlin hype video. “Sending all our love to you,” the caption read.

Player after player ditched their own numbers to wear a number three in Hamlin’s honor instead — and the team shared photos of them. They even stated that Sunday’s game was being played for their fallen brother. “Today is for 3,” one game-day post read.

And it’s not just the Buffalo Bills showing support, either. Ravens safety Geno Stone entered Paycor Stadium for Sunday’s game against Cincinnati wearing a Damar Hamlin jersey.

Just before Saturday’s game between the Tennessee Titans and the Jacksonville Jaguars, both teams gathered on the field for a moment of prayer.

Chicago Bears quarterback Nathan Peterman warmed up in a shirt showing love for Hamlin as well.

Paramedics in Cincinnati went to the spot where Hamlin collapsed to pray before Sunday’s game.
