Joe Biden interviewed about Ukraine via CNN

Within the span of one week, multiple videos have surfaced of President Joe Biden refusing to answer basic questions from reporters. In fact, Biden has held fewer press conferences than any other president in the past 100 years.

It’s not only conservatives who have criticized Biden over this issue. Left-wing outlets have also demanded that it’s important for the president to be accountable to the American people. This isn’t possible if he’s not willing to answer questions.

During Biden’s first two years in office, he held only 10 press conferences. This is less than half of the press conference held by President Donald Trump in the same time period, which was 23. (Poll: Do You Stand With Trump? VOTE)

Leftists may not like what Trump had to say, but at least he spoke frequently, directly, and truthfully. Biden, on the hand, appears to need scripted questions and answers. Even with advanced warnings about questions and large-font index cards, Biden’s handling of the press has been painfully embarrassing.

Last week, when asked by reporters about the rising death toll in Hawaii as the island burns from severe wildfires, the leader of the free world said “no comment” before heading home.

This weekend, a hot mic caught Biden demanding his handlers “politely ask the press to leave” as he grins and ignores questions. (Trending: Look How Many Times Democrats Denied Election Results Without Indictments)

These incidents have left Americans asking a critical question: Why isn’t Biden answering questions?

There are at least three possible reasons why Biden avoids questions from the press. One possibility is that he is trying to avoid making mistakes.

As Americans know too well, Biden is a gaffe-prone president. He is likely concerned that he will say something that will hurt his presidency if he answers questions from reporters off-the-cuff.

Another possibility is that he is trying to control the message. He lacks confidence in his ability to control what the public knows about his presidency if he only speaks to reporters when he is prepared.

A third possibility is Biden’s dwindling physical and mental energy. At 80 years old, Biden is the oldest president in U.S. history. When he receives a tough question, such as those from Fox News reporter Peter Doocy, he often grows agitated.

“I knew you’d have a lousy question,” Biden snapped at Doocy who recently asked about his involvement in his son Hunter’s business activity. (Poll: Do You Trust the Biden Family? VOTE)

It appears that Democrat Party is also willing to allow Joe Biden to avoid debates leading up to the 2024 presidential election. It may be still too early to say for sure whether Biden will debate.

According to a recent poll, 72% of Democratic primary voters say they would like to see a series of Democratic debates during the 2024 campaign.

Whatever the reason, Biden’s avoidance of questions from the press has been criticized by journalists and many members of the public. Only time will tell if this strategy backfires in the upcoming presidential election.
