A district judge overseeing the classified documents case involving former President Donald Trump criticized special counsel Jack Smith’s team for wasting the court’s time with a last-minute request.

The request involved concerns about potential conflicts of interest for the lawyers representing Trump’s co-defendants.

The judge expressed annoyance and admonished the prosecutors for not presenting these concerns earlier. (Trending: Famous Actor Attacks Trump Supporters)

U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon accused them of “wasting the court’s time.”

The Justice Department’s David Harbach complained that lawyers of Trump’s co-defendants, Waltine Nauta and Carlos de Oliveira, should be removed due to potential conflicts of interest.

“Attorneys at the defense table traded glances as the judge became shorter and shorter with Harbach,” the Washington Post reported.

“He insisted that his position was ‘unremarkable’ and supported by other court decisions, though Cannon took a dim view of the three he offered her,” the report added. (Trending: Disturbing Flag Found Near Massacre in Israel)

The situation reflects poorly on Smith’s team and raises questions about their intentions or competence.

Some speculate that the timing of the request feeds into claims that the charges against Trump are politically motivated.

Despite the ongoing legal issues, Trump remains the favorite for the GOP primaries.

The left is seen as trying to prevent him from getting a fair trial.
