John Allen, Bernalillo County Sheriff, is refusing to enforce New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham’s orders banning concealed carry.

Lujan has amended her order so it only pertains to playgrounds and parks.

Governor Grisham initially prohibited carrying handguns openly or concealed, even for self-defense by permit holders. (Trending: Popular Food Banned By Democrats)

Sheriff Allen deemed this ban as “unconstitutional” and vowed to not enforce it.

A U.S. District Judge issued a temporary restraining order against Grisham’s concealed carry ban, prompting the governor to revise it to only apply to parks and playgrounds in larger cities.

Although the judge allowed the amended ban, Sheriff Allen remains steadfast in his decision not to enforce it. (Trending: Unnerving Discovery In Joe Biden’s Email)

Allen said, “It wouldn’t make a difference because, again, you’re just going after law-abiding citizens with firearms.”

“And it does nothing to drive down gun crime or any other crime — whether it’s at a playground or somewhere else. It’s not common sense to me at all.”
