U.S. District Court Judge Tanya Chutkan will not send former President Donald Trump to jail if he violates the court’s gag order in the case related to the Capitol incursion on January 6, 2021.

Chutkan reinstated the gag order, stating that the right to a fair trial belongs to both Trump and the government.

However, the gag order is seen as a farce, especially during an election process where the government is prosecuting and silencing Trump, the main political opponent of the Biden administration.

“The government also asks the court to incorporate the Order into Defendant’s conditions of release …,” wrote Chutkan.

Adding, “Even assuming that request is procedurally proper, the court concludes that granting it is not necessary to effectively enforce the Order at this time.”

Trump violated the gag order by attacking his former attorney general, William P. Barr, on his social media platform, Truth Social.

“The right to a fair trial is not [Trump’s] alone, but belongs also to the government and the public.”, remarked Chutkan.

Some Democrats want Trump in jail if he continues to violate the order.

Barr spoke negatively about Trump in a recent speech in Chicago, saying “His verbal skills are limited.”

“If you get him away from ‘very, very, very’ … you know, the adjectives … they’re unfamiliar to him and they sort of spill out, and he goes too far,” Barr continued.

“He’s not very disciplined when it comes to what he says,” concluded the former Attorney General.

Trump responded to the “moron” William Barr on Truth Social.

“Well, that’s one I haven’t heard before. Tell that to the biggest political crowds in the history of politics, by far. Bill Barr is a LOSER!” posted Trump.

Judge Chutkan’s decision to block the Department of Justice from sending Trump to jail for violating the gag order is seen as a positive development.
