Britney Spears’ memoir, “The Woman in Me,” sold 1.1 million copies in its first week in the United States.

The book discusses her rise to fame, her struggles, and her life under a conservatorship.

“I poured my heart and soul into my memoir, and I am grateful to my fans and readers around the world for their unwavering support,” Spears stated.

Spears revealed previously unknown details, including her pregnancy with Justin Timberlake’s unborn child and her decision to have an abortion at his insistence.

“It was a surprise, but for me, it wasn’t a tragedy,” Spears wrote of the baby. “I loved Justin so much. I always expected us to have a family together one day. This would just be much earlier than I’d anticipated.”

“But Justin definitely wasn’t happy about the pregnancy,” she added. “He said we weren’t ready to have a baby in our lives, that we were way too young.”

She described the experience as agonizing. Although Spears claimed to have the highest-selling celebrity memoir, Prince Harry’s memoir technically sold more copies in its first week.

“If it had been left up to me alone, I never would have done it,” she wrote of the abortion. “And yet Justin was so sure that he didn’t want to be a father. To this day, it’s one of the most agonizing things I have ever experienced in my life.”

The audiobook, narrated by Michelle Williams, became the fastest-selling audio release in the publisher’s history.
