Former President Donald Trump praised his wife, Melania, for her intellect and role during his presidency in a recent interview.

He also discussed the challenges his family faced due to their involvement in politics, expressing that the Republican Party is united behind him.

Trump also addressed his victory in the New Hampshire primary and criticized former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, suggesting she should suspend her campaign.

“She’s very smart and a very compassionate person. She wants to make America great again, too,” Trump said of Melania. “And I would rely on her for advice and all others.”

“I’m very honored by the result,” Trump said, noting that he is “looking forward to going against the worst president in the history of our country.”

“I don’t know. She should,” Trump said when questioned over Haley’s potential to drop out.

“She should because, otherwise, we have to keep wasting money instead of spending on Biden,” Trump said. “If she doesn’t drop out, we have to waste money instead of spending it on Biden, which is our focus.”

“The party is very united except for her,” Trump said. “The party is very united, and we’re looking forward to going against the worst president in the history of our country.”

President Joe Biden declared Trump as the presumptive Republican nominee and encouraged unity in the country.

“It is now clear that Donald Trump will be the Republican nominee. And my message to the country is the stakes could not be higher. Our Democracy. Our personal freedoms — from the right to choose to the right to vote. Our economy — which has seen the strongest recovery in the world since COVID. All are at stake. I want to thank all those who wrote my name in this evening in New Hampshire,” Biden stated.

“It was a historic demonstration of commitment to our democratic process. And I want to say to all those Independents and Republicans who share our commitment to core values of our nation — our Democracy, our personal freedoms, an economy that gives everyone a fair shot — to join us as Americans. Let’s remember. We are the United States of America. And there is nothing — nothing — we can’t do if we do it together,” he added.

Despite Trump’s victory, Haley is vowing to stay in the race.

“I said, wow, she’s doing a speech like she won. She didn’t win. She lost,” Trump said. “Let’s not have somebody take a victory when she had a terrible night. She had a terrible night.”
