The Biden campaign has posted a job listing seeking to hire a Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.

The role would focus on creating and executing a strategy to attract and support diverse talent, as well as educating staff on DEI issues.

“Biden’s campaign is looking for a ‘DEI Director,’” RNC Research wrote, noting that, “All they know how to do is DIVIDE.”

Responsibilities include managing diversity efforts, programs for existing diverse staff, and hiring diverse employees.

However, the listing also states the campaign is committed to equal opportunity regardless of attributes like race, gender or orientation.

The campaign is looking for someone who will “focus on creating and executing a comprehensive strategy to attract and support diverse talent to further the campaign’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion,” the job listing reads.

“They will also be responsible for upskilling and further educating campaign staff around DEI,” it continues, noting that “Experience in the DEI space is essential.”

Some see irony in hiring a DEI director focused specifically on those attributes, reminding them of a past Biden Energy official who identified as non-binary and was caught stealing luggage, agreeing to a plea deal over the incident.

The call for the DEI role has sparked debate around the balancing of equal opportunity versus diversity focus.
